Keep Up Your Marketing Education

September, the month of going back to school. With education on the mind, maybe you don’t have time to actually enroll in a classroom class, but there are so many ways to keep learning. Massive Open Online Classes are one super easy way to find a broad array of classes.

Here’s a list of MOOCs to explore and a couple of example classes (though, there are many more):

  • The Strategy of Content Marketing – “In this course, you will learn the core strategies content marketers use to acquire and retain customers profitably.”

  • Marketing Analytics – “This course gives you the tools to measure brand and customer assets, understand regression analysis, and design experiments as a way to evaluate and optimize marketing campaigns. You'll leave the course with a solid understanding of how to use marketing analytics to predict outcomes and systematically allocate resources.”

  • Hour of Code – this collection of classes includes Hour of Drawing with Code, Hour of Databases and Hour of Webpages – all areas of marketing. Many of these say they target ages 12+, which to mean just means “starting at the basics”

  • Finance and Capital Markets – you’re in the business world. Learn the basics of things like compound interest, present value, inflation, etc.

  • P2PU (Peer to Peer University) – This company’s value proposition is “Learning circles are study groups for people who want to take online classes together and in-person.” Because of the nature of these in-person, they aren’t always available and change based on location and dates. Check the site for listings near you.

  • In Virginia Beach, there’s a circle that focuses on storytelling.

  • In Detroit there’s a class called “Finance for Everyone: Smart Tools for Decision-Making”

  • Problem Solving with Advanced Analytics – listed as a beginner level class, self-paced. “Throughout this course you’ll also learn the techniques to apply your knowledge in a data analytics program called Alteryx. At the end of the course, you’ll complete a project based on the principles in the course.”

  • Intro to JavaScript – free class, self-paced “Learn the fundamentals of JavaScript, the most popular programming language in web development.”

  • edX – these classes have start dates, so check the website for when classes start.

  • Marketing Management – “Learn how to effectively apply marketing management theories and practices, including the marketing mix, through real-world business scenarios.”

  • Global Marketing Strategy – “Understand how to assess global market opportunities and challenges while developing successful global marketing strategies.”

  • One Month – focused on coding. “With One Month's affordable and fun online boot camps, you can learn Python, Javascript, or Ruby in just 30 days.”

  • ALISON – I had to put this one in, of course. (Links to classes not available. But if you go to the main site, easy enough to just search for “marketing” and pull up all of their classes)

  • Marketing Management - Analyzing Competitors and Customers - “introducing you to the important features of competitor analysis by teaching about the different goals of marketing and how they fit into a company’s overall objectives. You will also study about the business strategy behind marketing, core business processes and core competencies.”

  • Marketing Management - Capturing Marketing Insights –“ earn about how an organization can gain important information that is helpful for making marketing decisions. It’s essential for an organization to gather, sort, analyse, evaluate and distribute information accurately in order to be best informed on how to approach their marketing endeavours.”

  • Marketing Foundations: Integrated Marketing Strategies - “Learn how brand choreography, an innovative integrated marketing communications (IMC) framework, can help breathe new life into your marketing efforts.”

  • Social Employees: The New Marketing Channel – “Employees in every department must become brand ambassadors. The purpose of this course is to help companies create a new authentic marketing channel fueled by social employees.”

  • Udemy – There are some nominal fees for some of these classes when you use a coupon. For example, at this very moment they have classes on sale for $10.

  • Social Media Marketing & Marketing Strategy Masterclass 2017 – “Understand How To Set Up A Simple Yet Powerful Marketing Strategy For Your Online Business”

  • LinkedIn Lead Generation: Resume, LinkedIn Marketing & Sales – “How To Make Sales On LinkedIn”
